Cross Country

Hampshire Cross Country League
 
The Hampshire Cross Country league, is probably the most competitive cross country league in the south. The 2005/2006 season saw the Reading Senior Ladies clinch the league title for the first time ever. Whilst the Men's Veteran Athlete's retained their vet's title they won in the 2004/2005 season.
There is no limit on how many athlete's run, but only the first athlete's home score for the team, except in the Senior Men's race where 5 member's score. The Men's section has 3 Division's with both Senior and Vet men contesting their respective Division One.
 
The timetable for League races are as follows:
1200        U/13 Girls
1215        U/13 Boys
1230            U/15 Girls
1250            U/15 Boys
1305        U/17 Women  
1335        Senior Women (including Vets, U/20’s)
1410        U/17 Men
1430            Senior Men (including Vets, U/20’s)

Championships Races
 
Reading compete in a number of Championships races over the winter season.
 
The biggest is naturally the National Cross Country Championships, all ages are contested and there are no restriction's on how many athlete's run, providing they have been entered by the club beforehand, for all ages it is the first 4 athlete's that score, except the Senior Men who need 6 to score.
 
The Southern Cross Country Championships are the same format as the national's. The course is regulary held on the Parliament Hill Fields, in Hampstead Heath, London. This course is regarded as one of the toughest of any courses in the country.
 
The Berks, Bucks and Oxon Championships has been highly successfull for the club and is usually held in November time, both the senior men and women's team have won the team event on numerous occasions, with many of the younger team's also claiming team event victories in the past, Senior Lady, Ariane Pritchard, is a 3 times winner of the ladies title, having won it 3 time's in a row.
 
The Berkshire Championship's has also seen many many team and Individual title's for the club, they have often been the most successful club in the county at this fixture.
 
The club's also compete's in various road relay championships, including the Southern Men's 6 stage and Women's 4 stage relays at Aldershot, as well as the Southern and National Men's 12 stage and Women's 6 stage relay's, the latter is usually held towards the end of the Winter Season.
