Reading Athletic Club's youngsters contested their
final league fixture of the Southern Premier West division of the National Young Athletes league this past Sunday Winchester
and with it, more than comfortably claimed their spot in the Southern Area final on August the 1st. Yet again some really
strong performances were gained, despite the very windy conditions at times, amongst which, Amy Holder beat her own U15 pole
vault record with a superb 2.80m clearance - the 5th best height in the UK at present. Another highlight was that off the
U15 girls 4x100 relay team, who clocked the fastest U15 time in the UK for 2010 with a superb 50.4 clocking, just a fraction
away from the 50.3 club record however! The 4x300 U17 squad also set a new record with a fast sub 3 minute time.

Reading Ac Summer Course for Young Athletes Athletics!!
Reading Athletic Club is putting on a summer course which begins on Monday the 16th August
to Wednesday the 18th August from 2.00pm until 4.00pm that will be held at Palmer Park Stadium.
The course is aimed at young people of all abilities aged 7 to 11 years of age. With the London
Olympics just 2 years away, here is the oppurtunity for children to get some coaching from a club that has produced an Olympic
champion, in addition to other Olympic athletes, UK record holders and Internationals galore.
The club is providing expert taster level coaching from qualified club coaches in a wide range
of athletic events including running, jumping and throwing. We aim to ensure the children, whether new to athletics or have
some background in the sport, have a fun, enjoyable and quality experience. Each child will receive a certificate of achievement
on completion and more details about membership of Reading Athletic Club, if not already a member.
