Senior Men’s Report by Ray Stevens

This year South of England Cross Country Championships were held at Beckenham Park London.

Isaac Farnworth, who is in heavy training for the Wokingham half Marathon, had a good run to finish 54th in 51-46. Peter Cook, who is just getting back into full training, was 191st (56-57). Arturo Martinez De Murguia had one of his best cross country races to finish in his highest position in this race in 227th (58-36) while club captain David Lewis was 379th (63-25).

The senior men’s race was run over 4 laps on a course not suitable for a major championship with a long stony section on each lap which caused a lot of problems for those wearing spikes. For Reading AC, Sam Rodda was racing well in the top 100 before a spike came through his shoe and into the bottom of his foot on this section.

Well done to all those who ran. Unfortunately, we were unable to finish a scoring team due to injuries and athlete availability.
