Six Reading Athletic Club athletes represented Berkshire at the UK Sportshall finals in Manchester on 14 April 2018. A fuller report to follow. The Reading AC contingent secured a number of individual and relay gold, silver and bronze medals with the girls team finishing in overall joint second position and the boys team finishing third. Well done team Berkshire.

6 May, AVL Boys Now at Eton
The venue for the Alder Valley League for Boys on Sun 6 May has now been changed to Eton.

The closing date for the main Berkshire Track and Field Championships on Sunday 13 May is approaching.
Closing date for entering is: Sun 29 April

U13s can compete in the Quadrathlon on Sun 13 May with the main U13 Championships on the evening of Weds 11 July.
3,000m and steeplechase competitions for older age groups will also take place on 11 July.
Club championships high jump for U13s and older will now take place on Tuesday 17 April 2018 during the regular training session.
Competition will commence promptly at 5.45 PM for U13 girls and boys.
The competition for U15 age group upwards will commence immediately following the U13 competition.
Please assist the event by being prompt as stadium hire is time-limited due to the cycling club use.
Club Championships 1 to go ahead, but high jump and pole vault postponed.
Due to the heavy rain forecast for Monday 2 April, we have decided to postpone the high jump and pole vault. If you are entered in the high jump, the club champs competition will now take place on a training night to be decided or you can transfer your entry to triple jump if you are U15 or older.
For everyone else, please come prepared for wet weather, with water proofs and umbrellas. It will be good practice for any wet meets during the summer.
A big thank you to all those that have volunteered to help. Please report to Sarah Thomas to find where you are needed and there will be hot drinks for you to help stay warm.
Reading AC has been awarded funding as part of the England Athletics Game Changers Program. This will be used to encourage, train and reward more volunteers aged 14-24. If you would like to be part of the program please sign up to volunteer for 1 or more of the 30min volunteer slots at club champs. There will then be a meeting for all those that wish to continue to volunteer as coaches or officials shortly after the 2nd club champs day.
